Senior Divas - March 16 class

Wanted to share some of the completed items the divas brought to class today to show what they have been working on.

Ms. Audrey has been working on hand embroidering a set of pillow cases.  Just a word, this diva crochets and makes jewelry as well.

Ms. Pat completed yet another baby blanket.  This is in addition to a number of headbands she has been finishing for her grands.

And, Ms. Marion finished another black and gold scarf; along, with some headbands -- one of which she wore in today, and gave another away to another PPCC member.

Senior Divas' Work

As I posted in another post, the senior divas have been busy crocheting away.  Here are some of the things they have been completed!!!

Ms. Marion learned to knit last year and did a ton of black and gold Saints scarves.  Toward the end of last year she started learning to crochet.  She's been working on these scarves this year.  She finished them after I taught her how to add fringes.

Ms. Pat has been on a ROLL!!!!! She has been crocheting ponchos, headbands, and blankets!!!! 

And, she also completed her black and gold blanket (I posted mine in an earlier post).

I'm telling you ... they are on a serious roll.

Now on to 2015!!!

I'm expanding my horizon and learning new crochet stitches to teach to my senior divas at the Center.  One of the new stitches is really an Old World stitch - the Bavarian stitch.  My divas said they would like to slate this stitch towards the middle to the end of the year.  However, I still worked it to learn it for then.

This is how a block comes together, with the change of colors and all.  And...

...this is a finished block.

I also did the stitch up in a basket form for variation.

I also learned the stitch in the handles of this purse, which we will start in June.  Believe it or not, the purse has already gone to another home.  I'm glad I was able to get a picture before it left.

We are also slated to do a purse later in the year.  This was a small handbag type purse, but I made it larger to carry yarn and other projects in it.

And the last thing I did up for us to do were the stitches in these caps.  Because it is a double stitch, it is very, very warm; and, they came in very handy during this winter's cold snap.

These are just some of the things we have on the agenda for this year.  But, the divas have been busy doing a couple of the projects from last year... and then some!!!!!  Check back to see those.

It's a New Year!!!

Welcome 2015, and I haven't posted any of my projects from the end of 2014 or the beginning of 2015.  Sooooo, here goes some of the things that were made in December of 2014.  Will post 2015 as a separate post.

Here are two coffee mugs that I made for my daughter as gifts for two guys in her office.  They were made using the Brother Scan-N-Cut with vinyl that was cut from my own handwriting.

Hubby got a new Saints pillow case with his initials and an embroidered and appliqued fleur-de-lis for the travel pillow he keeps on the den's sofa.

While trolling the internet, I saw a Snoopy dog and banana that I thought would be fun to try to crochet.

And, finally, I made a crochet cake and embroidered the top for granddaughter's 21st birthday in January.  Since her theme was black, white, and silver, I "iced" the cake with a beautiful ribbon in her colors.  I also used the ribbon to make her a beaded necklace.
