Happy Holidays

Happy holidays to you all!!!

I think I was all over the place!!!  Did cards, boxes, jewelry, and even about four loaves of raisin-cinnamon bread.

Missed pics of some of the things I made because, as usual, they were out of here as soon as they were done.  However, I did do about three dozen bracelets and was able to catch a few pics of them.

A Salvation bracelet, which was given to all my daughters and granddaughters, and my sister and best friend.

While I was making bracelets, I did this one from some wooden beads I had.  These are going to my daughters and sister.

This is the start of a jump ring bracelet that I was making for the hubby.

This is the jump ring that is now completed.  He really loved it and wore it to work.

This is another Salvation bracelet, but with three each of the different beads.  Each bead color is significant.

Boy, once the roll started, it was sort of hard to stop.  Just playing with beads here.

Another wooden bead.

May do a couple more bracelets today (even some earrings and necklaces).  My son gave me some equipment that will make it even easier.

Hope you enjoy.

College Graduation Card

Hi guys.  Speaking with my niece this morning via phone, and she advised that her older daughter is graduating from college on the 18th of this month.  Well, while we were on the phone, I collected a little info and began sketching a design for a card.

Here's the video where I show the sketch and the pieces for the card.

And, here's the finished card.

Both gold papers are the color of the front of the card, and the balloons are gold also.  Sorry, if the colors are off.  Who knows, eventually I will get good at this photography thing, too.

This will go in the mail tomorrow to make sure she gets it - what with the Christmas rush and all.

Hope you enjoy.  Leave me a comment.

Christmas and Sympathy Cards

Made a fast video to show you the Christmas cards I have been working on.  Still have a long, long, long way to go.  I am trying to get the ones out that need to go up north and to the east and west coast.  Then I will start on the ones closer.  They are very simple cards because they are going through the postal system.

I also included a sympathy card that I just completed.

Hope you enjoy.

Boxes and Towels

I decided to make some boxes for two of the mini albums I had made previously. Also, am making some candy tubes from the toilet paper rolls for the grands.  Will show all of these in a video (along with the finished towels), since I think they will be easier to see.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.  I hope your day is filled with love with family and friends.  These are our most precious possessions, and we should never lose sight of this.

I finished two sets of towels yesterday, and now I only have one set left to embroider.

I also finished a paper bag album for my sister's birthday (but forgot to get pictures).  Maybe she'll let me get some pics for the post.

I did complete a Match Book Paper Bag album, which I videoed.

Hope the rest of your day is filled with peace, love, and joy.  Enjoy your time spent with family and friends.

Busy, Busy, Busy

Sorry, have been unable to post for a while.  Trying to finish up some bath towels (3 sets of 4 each) for my "bestest" friend. Almost done.

Had a little time in the garden the other day and took some pictures.  Haven't done that in a while yet either.  So, I thought I would share my other love with you.

One of my three-season azalaes.  The other ones are not in bloom and are just not having it.

Love my chiminea.  Fired it up this weekend for the first time this "winter" and enjoyed the fire with a glass of Moscato.  You can see my other orange tree (on left), kumquats in middle, and lemon tree on right.

These mums have come back beautifully every year for the past three years.  They are called "Helen" - my mom and mother-in-law's name.  I remember them each year with these mums.

Close up of the kumquats and lemon tree.  Have a very nice produce this year.  As you can see there are many more yet to come.

Close up of my lemon thyme.  Love the smell and taste of this plant.

This is the center fountain of the yard (have a small little girl fountain on the patio).  The water sound is sooooo soothing.

This is the other orange tree at the back of the yard.  As you can see, she's produce a good load this year.  Must be because of the gardenia plant that is planted to her right.

Close up of one of the rosemary plants in the yard.

My peppermint on the patio.

Oregano, rosemar, lamb's ear, and lemon grass by the pear tree.

Of course, my granddog, Trinia, just had to get in on the fun.

Just playing around.

Now, she's serious.

But, isn't she a beauty!?
 Hope you enjoyed your visit.

New Cards

Been really busy for the past few weeks; been working on embroidering some bath towels for a great friend.  But, here are a few of the cards I have made for my November birthdays (the ones that didn't get away before I had a chance to photograph them).  Also made a couple of mini albums and will try to get them videoed some time today.

Hope you enjoyed.

Paper Rolls, Paper Rolls

Here's a laugh for you -- I put together over 30 sets of paper rolls for books yesterday.  That's over 30 mini albums!!!!

Now, here's the thought this morning -- what if I put two rolls together per page.  It would look like this...

Will get to embellishing and putting it all together.  Hopefully, will have something to show you a little later in the day.

Thanks for stopping...bye.

Paper Towel Rolls

I have this crateload of paper towel and toilet paper rolls.  I think now would be a good time to make some mini albums to give as birthday/Christmas gifts.

I will take 5 paper towel rolls and cut them in half.  Then I will take 10 sheets of black 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock and two binding rings to make the bases for two mini albums.  From there, you can take and finish it any way you choose.  Have fun and be creative!!!

I do have a video coming to show you how I did it.  Hopefully, you will feel inspired to try it yourself.  We can recycle and get gifts, all at the same time.

Here are the measurements for you to get started:
Cut the cardstock width-wise at 5 1/2" (for 2 even sheets of 5 1/2" x 8 1/2")
Then, cut these sheets to measure 5 1/2" x 6 7/8". (Don't discard the left over scrap of paper).
Score each sheet lengthwise at 2" and 4 3/4".
Take the left over piece and score it at 1 1/2" and 4 1/4".
Tape the rolls to the 5 1/2" x 6 7/8" sheets, using the scored areas.
Tape the 1 1/2" x 4 1/4" piece across the left-hand side.
Put two holes in the left-hand side at 3/4" and 1 3/4" from the side.
Connect the five panels with the 2 binding rings.

Now decorate and embellish as you desire.

For my mats, I cut the papers at 2 1/2" x 5 1/4".

If you do decide to try it, send me a picture of your completed album at thingsmadebyhand@gmail.com.

Thanks for stopping...bye.
