A Gaggle of Earrings

Completed a few earring sets for my sister's shop.  I guess you can say that I really got into the mood.

I finished putting the hardware on a couple of earrings that were crocheted...

...and some that were machine embroidered.

I also pulled out an assortment of beads and made a couple of beaded earrings.

Hope you enjoy and, leave me some comments or suggestions.

Neighbor's Love of Beads

My neighbor loves to go to the jewelry shows and look at all the beads.  She always comes back with a bag of beads, which she hands to me and smiles, and says, "Can I get a necklace and some earrings please."

Well, this time, it was black and white pearls. I added some Dyna-Mites by Matsuno of Japan and some Swarvoski crystals and she got a three-tiered necklace and some drop earrings.

Hope you enjoy.  Let me know you're out there - leave me some comments or suggestions.

It's Tea Time!!!

My sister LOVES teapots, cups, and saucers.

I saw these charms the other day, and just knew I needed to make her a bracelet to show her love of teapots.

It's not the best picture, but it looks adorable on her wrist.

Now back to work!!!

Hope you enjoy.  Any comments or suggestions?

Vinyl Cutting Board

Thought I'd surprise the other half of the Crafting Divas with a cutting board for her kitchen.

She LOVES her coffee, and gets her fill when we get together to craft weekly.

Hope you enjoy.  Feel free to leave any comments or suggestions.

Wire Working

Still working with wire.  Thought I'd show you how I start the band for the ring.  I enjoy doing the weaving, but sometimes it can be a little tiring (and rough) on the hands.

But, I think you'd agree that it is worth the effort with the finished product.

Hope you enjoy.  Feel free to leave me any comments or suggestions.

Crocheting Flower Afghan

My crocheting diva group at the Center is doing a flower afghan.  I am finally rounding the corner on it.  Will post the completed afghan later this week.

My flower colors are pink, yellow, and blue.  I chose all pastels.  They will be completed on a "bed" of white.  I did all of my flowers first, then the green parts, then the white blocks.

Here, I am completing the block portion.

And, finally, I am beginning to put the afghan together.

Hope you enjoyed.  Leave me your comments.

Learning Something New

Yesterday was a "full day".  Had a lot of running to do with grands - drop offs and pick ups and drop offs.  Also, had to make a school Mardi Gras parade with another grand.  They were sooooo excited and the band and marching units were AWESOME for an elementary school!!

But, earlier in the morning, I was able to get some wire weaving done.  It is a work in progress, learning to make the wire go the way I want it to.  I am working in copper wire, although the ring looks bronze or gold in the picture.  I was able to make two rings - one large and one small.  The small one was taken as soon as made, so I only got a picture of the larger one.

I have Valentine's on the mind, so I thought I would try my hands at working with a heart.  Had a few problems getting the curves at the top of the heart.  Perhaps will try it again in another gauge.

While I was working the heart, I kept getting the idea for a pair of earrings, so I hurriedly worked up this pair in copper also.

I am really enjoying this journey with wire weaving.  Just wanted to share my journey with you.  Hope you enjoyed.

Afternoon

I'm sharing a card that I made this morning for a granddaughter's friend.

Hope you enjoy.

Time

Time has a way of getting away from you.  This is my first post for the new year, and we are already in February.  Well, here goes.

I have been working a lot in wire, trying to hone this new skill.  I was able to complete this bracelet and earrings.  I love taking wire and ending with a piece.  Both pieces have been totally constructed from 20 gauge wire, including the findings.

I also completed a card for a very special neighbor.  For those interested in knowing what I used to complete this card, please see below.

To construct this card, in addition to the silver, lavender, and light purple papers, I also used:
Cricut Explore and the Art Philosophy (numbers) and Forever Young (hat) cartridges
Cuttlebug and the Swiss Dots folder for the inside mat
Hero Arts' Operation Write Home stamp for the "Happy Birthday"
White Gelly Roll pen for letters on outside hat
Stickles silver and clear for the hat
Stamp N Stuff Embossing powder in silver and Darice Heat Tool for the "Happy Birthday".

Hope you enjoyed.
